The Prophecy of Iona and the Grail Legends

The Prophecy

There is a prophecy that says a woman with the soul of Mari Magdalena will return to the Isle of Iona, a Scottish Isle where she gave birth to the last son of Saint Isa (Jesus). Not only did they name the child John Martinis, there is a Celtic Cross on the Isle which still stands today, dedicated to none-other than Saint John. According to the author Christine Hartley in her book “The Western Mystery Tradition,” the holy isle of Iona was also known as the Isle of John. Could this relate to the presence of a child of Christ, John Martinus, on Iona?

According to the author William Sharp, writing as Fiona Macleod in 1910: “When I think of Iona I think often, too, of a prophecy once connected with Iona….the old prophecy that Christ shall come again upon Iona, and of that later and obscure prophecy which foretells, now as the Bride of Christ, now as the Daughter of God, now as the Divine Spirit embodied through mortal birth in a Woman, as once through mortal birth in a man, the coming of a new Presence and Power: and dream that this may be upon Iona, so that the little Gaelic island may become as the little Syrian Bethlehem…… A young Hebridean priest once told me how, ‘as our forefathers and elders believed and still believe, that Holy Spirit shall come again which once was mortally born among us as the Son of God, but, then, shall be the Daughter of God. The Divine Spirit shall come again as a Woman. Then for the first time the world will know peace’.”

The Mystical Isle of Iona

Iona has a very colorful history, related to not only the Grail stories but to stories of Atlantis, King Arthur, Merlin, St. Brighid and the Goddess Sophia. Its mystery and magic includes tales of Templars, Druids, Mermaids, and fairies the Sidhe or People of the Hills, the Tuatha De Daanan. In this article,  I intend to connect all the dots and unveil the truth, by providing sufficient evidence and stirring esoteric information in support of the legendary Grail accounts on Iona and the British Isles.

After my experience with The Secrets I Discovered in Stained Glass at Rosslyn Chapel , I ventured by train out of Edinburgh Scotland, took a bus, and two ferries to get to the Isle of Iona. I had been drawn to visit Iona prior to learning about the legends of Mari and Isa in both Scotland and England. I’ve found that I’m not alone in being called to this special place where the veil between Heaven and Earth is at its thinnest, allowing pilgrims to easily access spiritual dimensions.

In fact, many female pilgrims in particular are being drawn to this small Hibernian Island. Either backpacking alone as I did, or by joining groups of other women on spiritual pilgrimage. It is curious indeed that so many women are taking sojourns to Iona for their own unique initiations with the Goddess and Divine Feminine. One such spiritual retreat was held in honor of this very same prophecy regarding our Lady of Magdala, the Watch Tower of the flock. The women came to fulfill the prophecy by bringing forth the return of the Grail Queens, assisting the divine feminine powers in sisterhood.

As I strolled barefoot along Iona’s sacred shores pebbled with some of the most ancient stone in the world, millions of years of evolution in the making, I contemplated these mysteries and  literally felt time coming to a standstill. Three miles of heaven on earth, no air pollution, no city sounds, only beautiful nature abounds. Iona legends go back to the age of Atlantis, both as a literal story of radical changes in coastal geomorphology from cyclical natural catastrophe, as evidenced by the mystical rock formations adorning the Staffa Caves nearby; but also as metaphor of ancient wisdom sinking into the subconscious.

One such legend speaks of a group consisting of 7 males and 3 females, along with one child establishing an Atlantean colony on Iona. They built a small library for which they called their heart seed along with a temple. These refugees of the lost continent of Atlantis called the Isle of Iona, Aberuk, or “distant place of the heart.” The Druid maps listed Iona as Innis nan Druidnean, the Isle of Druids, possibly because it is believed that at one time the island had 350 standing stones. The locals have only in recent years begun doing excavations on the Isle near the medieval Abby, and have already discovered much older ruins beneath the soil.

Hyperboreans, the Aryans of the 2nd root race referred to the Isle of Iona by Luma, or “Bright Land.” The Priestesses on Iona called themselves the Priestesses of Ank or Sacred Well of Life. Etymologically, Ank is strongly suggestive of the Egyptian Ankh, the symbol of life and sacred union between the Divine Feminine, and the Sacred Masculine. The Iona Priestesses were the inspiration for the Celtic legends concerning sanctuaries of the ‘Lady of the Lake’ type “anima,” Carl Jung’s term for the feminine part of a man’s personality. Divine women who regenerated the male soul, psyche, and often his physical body as well.

One such Priestess, the last known Prioress on Iona is Anna MacLean. Her body still rests on the Isle, she died in 1543,  upon her tombstone is an effigy of a woman holding a child with an inscribed dedication to Saint Maria. Many may assume this is a dedication to the Virgin Mary, however if one looks deeper into the symbolism, you will note that the woman is flanked by Twin Towers. Not only is this a medieval symbol for Mari Magdalena, but her name itself means Tower, Fish Tower or Tower of Fishermen in Hebrew.

In researching for this article, I discovered quite synchro-mystically, that my own name “Tara” means Tower in Gaelic. The ruins of the great Halls where the kings once met, are on the Hill of Tara in Ireland. I visited this sacred hill while backpacking for a month, which I will be exploring, and writing about in great detail at a later date. Sharing knowledge about one of my favorite subjects, the mythical Tuatha De Daanan.

Local legends say Mari arrived with child after her exile from the homeland, first arriving in France, and then traveling to Glastonbury, ultimately landing on Iona to give birth. The son of St. Isa and St. Mari was to be raised and initiated into the Greater Mysteries by the Iona Priestess Eilean. Incidentally, another ancient Gaelic name for the Isle of Iona was Eilean Idhe, also known as Ì nam ban bòidheach (“the isle of beautiful women”). Is it possible the woman holding the child is a dedication to St. Mari Magdalena and the child of Christ, St. John whom the Priestess Eilean helped to raise and protect during her lifetime? Was this secret passed down to the last Prioress on Iona, Anna MacLean?

Iona Nunnery

I like to imagine the ancient temple where Mari is rumored to have once walked and bore a son, is yet to be discovered under the ruins of the Iona Nunnery still standing today, call it an intuitive hunch. As I explored the site, I came upon one of the outer walls of the Nunnery where I discovered a very worn symbol of a naked woman with her legs spread. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, it’s very easy to miss. The religious carving of a woman is called a Sheela-na-Gigs, figurative carvings of naked women displaying an exaggerated vulva, an obvious symbol associated with the Goddess of fertility and childbirth.

The Isle has also been associated with harboring women fleeing from persecution, from abusive husbands, unwed mothers, and those who had lost their husbands like Mari. Hence why one of the many names associated with the Island translates to the Isle of Beautiful Women.

The Nunnery is a truly glorious and spiritual testimony that has withstood the test of time, despite the Norman Vikings attempts to destroy it by burning in 802 AD. 68 monks were killed in another raid in 806 AD. The remaining monks fled to Kells (County Meath, Ireland) with a gospel-book produced in Iona, and known as the ‘Book of Kells.

These ruins were by far my favorite place to visit while I spent a week on the Isle of Iona. I could often be found there meditating with my nagchampa incense, seated in the area of the nunnery called the “An Taigh Caibideil” – The Chapter House. A humble room made of stone where the Black Nuns would sit daily in contemplation. The stone benches in which the black nuns would have sat in service to the divine, still intact and in good condition allowing me to sit for what felt like hours despite the waves of tourist passing by for photo opts. I felt very much at home in this sacred place retracing the footsteps of these primeval women. The Black Nuns of Iona who resided in the nunnery in 1200, followed the teachings of Saint Augustine of Hippo in Egypt. One of many connections these British Islands have to the far East.

Leylines of Iona

The ancients often built over previous sacred sites as they fell into ruin, either by cataclysm or war. They were much more in tune with the energetic “ley-lines” of the planet, the great planetary Dragon Lines which impregnate mother earth. It’s possible the builders of the Nunnery knew about the lands ancient past. I know it felt quite special to me personally in the medieval ruins. Iona is a geomagnetic vortex, anchoring a pentagonal matrix of ley lines, invisible currents of earth- energy. This telluric current, or earth current which moves under the ground and through the sea, intersects three ley-lines which lie in a swampy part of the island, marked by low-lying boulders in a perfect circle with a central altar stone.

Also, interestingly to note, the title of Merlin as Seer to the King is well established in Druid tradition. The Merlin’s preserved the “Mer-Lines,” the umbilical to the Mother or matriarchal line (mitochondrial DNA) the connection to the divine feminine and the ocean of greater consciousness. Folklore says, “You walk Merlin’s line on Iona through the Mother’s landscape body to the Mother.”

It is believed that Christ personally attuned Iona to this perfect frequency (Christos frequency) for the purpose of initiates to receive this energetic atonement. Pre-Christian Ionians worshipped the Mother Goddess, sister of the sun-god Bel, also worshipped in Egypt and Asia Minor. Her sites are associated with sacred springs, fountains and wells. This Mother Church connects the Gaels with the cradles of civilization in Europe and Asia. Iona used to have a circle of standing stones and there are remains of over 350 megalithic stones. Some of Iona’s megaliths may have been carved into the numerous Celtic crosses of the island, some of which have gone missing. Perhaps those among the missing were relics dedicated to members of the holy family.

The Sacred Pentagram of Scotland

Iona’s ley-line alignment extends to Montrose on the east coast of the Scottish mainland, passing through the ancient Celtic royal burial site at Dunstaffnage, then Fortingall, St. Mary’s Church, Grandtully, Aberlemno, which is marked by two ancient and inscribed stones, finally reaching Montrose (Mount of the Rose).

The Rose being an obvious association with Mari Magdalena. The current parish church of Montrose was built-in 1791 by David Logan, but there have been a number of ecclesiastical structures on the site since the medieval period. The earliest is thought to have been built in the 12th century and dedicated to St John the Evangelist. Could this be another clue associating John Martinus, the son of Isa and Mari to this Parish connected by the ley-lines of his birth place on Iona?

St. Martinus

St. Martins Parish Church

James M. Mackinlay also observes: “In the Strathmore district of Perthshire is the parish of St. Martin’s, whose name leaves no doubt as to the dedication of its ancient church. In 1598, a field beside the churchyard was known as St. Martin’s Acre. The church of Montrose dedicated to John the Evangelist in Angus owed allegiance to St. Martin, whose name is still preserved in St. Martin’s Well, and in a neighboring hollow known as St. Martin’s Den.”

“A chapel bearing St. Martin’s name was situated, along with its graveyard, on a rising ground at the east end of Nungate, a suburb of Haddington, on the right bank of the Tyne. It was a dependency of the Cistercian nunnery of Haddington, founded by Countess Ada, mother of Malcolm IV, and William the Lion. The land on which it stood was granted by the Countess to Alexander St. Martine, and it was he, according to Dr. J. G. Wallace James, who probably built the chapel.” (Ancient Church Dedications in Scotland, 1914) One might wonder who were the antecedents of Alexander St. Martine? Likewise, what were the origins of the Scottish Clan MacMartin known to date at least as far back as the Middle Ages?

A stained glass window depicting Saint Mary Magdalene, St Martin’s Church.

While one can understand that some chapels and Kilmartin place-names may have as their origin religious dedications to St. Martin of Tours, nevertheless such old Gaelic place-names translating as St. Martin’s Acre, St. Martin’s Den, Martin’s Land, Martin’s Well, Martin’s Isle and Martin’s Dale are more likely to have arisen due to the actual presence of a holy person named Martin, since there is no record of St. Martin of Tours ever visiting ancient Alban (Scotland). It allows one to speculate that some of these Gaelic Martin place-names may relate to John Martinus, or possibly some of his descendants who would no doubt have continued the spiritual work initiated by their illustrious and holy forbears.

Interestingly, Otta F. Swire, a Scottish folklorist, comments on an early medieval carved tombstone, in the style of those found on Iona, located in the old graveyard of Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye, saying: “It marks the grave of Angus Gille Martin, the first member of the Martin family to settle in Skye.” (Skye: The Island and its Legends, 1961) Remarkably, the Isle of Skye in Gaelic “Eilean Isa” translates to the (“Island of Jesus”).

There is also an early Martinus connection with Arles in Celtic Gaul (now France), where a Christian mission was established by St. Trophimus, a disciple of St. Isa. Tradition says that St. Trophimus travelled to Gaul with Mari Magdalena and other disciples of Isa. He became the first of a succession of bishops of Arles holding the office from 60-80 AD. Interestingly, from 170-180 AD, the name of the then Bishop of Arles was Martinus. Barely a century and a half later we find another Bishop of Arles, named Martinus II (316-330 AD), which may suggest some kind of hereditary descent. Could this imply a family lineage descended from John Martinus?

High Priestess Mari Magdalena – Keeper of Doves

The Isle of Iona is in the shape of a Dove and its name in Hebrew means Dove, though most recently it was named after the pioneering spirit, St. Columba, also known himself as the “the dove of the church”. The Rosarium Philosophorum equates the dove with heavenly light. Young visionaries, virginal children used as oracles or channels, are also called “Doves” in the magic tradition. According to the book titled “An End to All Disease & the Da Vinci Code Revelations” by Lt. Lawrence F. Frego, even the highest initiates of the various mystery schools NEVER spoke the name of Jesus.  Jesus was also referred to as “THE DOVE,” the various names of Jesus, are in fact spiritual titles, all meaning roughly “light-bearer.”

96419665788071451063c7f1a6742704--maria-madalena-mary-magdaleneIn my own personal experience, it is Mari Magdalena and the Goddess that I’ve associated with the Dove, a Mourning Dove to be specific, because of an event that changed the course of my life in my early twenties. At the time, prior to this experience, I had little to no relationship with The Divine. I’d lost the strong connection I’d once had as a child, both as an infant during an OBE, (Out of Body Experience) and after my NDE  (Near Death Experience) as a young girl. Time had caused me to become bitter and broken. During an unexpected moment of complete surrender, I fell to tears while contemplating the suffering and pain that St. Isa must have experienced while being nailed to a cross for historically refusing to pay taxes, the only crime Pontius Pilate could charge him with during his interrogations. As my tears of intense empathy fell uncontrollably, I became what I called “enraptured.” I was unable to move or speak while being wrapped in what I can only describe as a golden energetic cocoon of pure bombastic bliss.

That night when I was almost asleep in my bed, I felt someone or something blow a breath of cold air upon my right arm. As I sat straight up out of my bed in fear, my cat also jumped up onto the bed staring at whatever was above my head. I could feel something there and see the luminescent glow it was putting off in my peripheral. I turned to my boyfriend at the time and yelled, “There’s something in the room!” He was never one to believe in such things, so I was shocked when he said, “I believe you because I just saw it leave.” When I turned to look, I could see the hallway light up as it vanished around the corner, like a welcoming stranger who didn’t mean to frighten us. When I asked my boyfriend what he had seen, he described it as a ball of light that moved swiftly up and down the door, before quickly exiting around the corner from which it came.

The following day, a Mourning Dove appeared outside my front door as I was heading out to work, singing a hauntingly beautiful melody. I intuitively felt this Dove was a winged messenger of what some in esoteric circles would call the Bird Tribe, otherwise known as angels to most, letting me know I’d had a visit from the divine the night before and not to be frightened.

As I began to work more on the Divine Feminine within myself, it became clear to me that the dove was a symbol for Mari Magdalena and the Goddess. The cult of Ishtar or Astarte – the Mother Goddess and ‘Queen of Heaven’ involved a seven-stage initiation (The dance of the seven veils). Prior to her affiliation with Isa, the Magdalena may well have been associated with such a cult. Migdal, or Magdala, was the ‘Village of Doves’. She was a high priestess of the Temple of Ishtar at Magdala, and as such she would have been the keeper of the doves. The mourning dove still shows up outside my home no matter where I’m residing, especially in times of crisis to offer me support, courage, and strength with her song.

Initiation by Breath

I would only come to understand fully the significance of the holy breath I received that fateful night many years later while actually researching for this very article. Jesus also called Adon or Adonoi, meaning Lord and Holy Spirit, transmitted to the Disciples by breathing upon them. Mari received the Holy Spirit in this way and advanced in spiritual consciousness.

In the Biblical tradition, The Holy Spirit was given to Adam in the Garden of Eden, when God “blew upon” him the breath of life. This “blowing” of the Holy Spirit was what had made him a living soul. “And God created man, earth from the earth, and He blew upon his person/countenance the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”- Genesis 2:7

This tradition has its origins in ancient Egypt, which precedes the Bible by thousands of years. The Priests and Priestesses performed the same transmissions or breath initiation as depicted below with the Ankh, the Egyptian symbol for life. Was my own experience an actual initiation, the start of my personal journey into the Greater Mysteries? The more I delved into this lost history, the more I discovered the connections between Ancient Sumer and Egypt with the British Isles.

St. Columba, Egypt, and the Stone of Destiny

Today Iona is mostly remembered because of St. Columba, a mystic Monk who in his own right deserves an entire blog entry dedicated to himself. St. Columba drove out a rival monastic order, not the indigenous druids as is frequently but wrongly reported. Born unto a royal family, in-line to become King, he instead entered into the Priesthood. Legend has it, he performed many miracles and had the ability to control the elements.

St. Columba descended from the Egyptian princess Scota, who escaped to Scotland after the overthrow of her Father the Pharaoh Akhenaten, aka: Amenhotep IV. Irish history says she arrived in the Southern part of Ireland with the Stone of Destiny 4,000 to 3,500 years ago. According to Nocholas de Vere, the line of Princess Scota/Scotia descended through the Tuatha de Danaan (The Dragon Kings and Queens of Anu) and the Egyptian Dragon Dynasty of Sobek. The later strain included the bloodline of the Davidic House of Judah who married into the Merovingian’s Kings of the Franks. Her cult of the Dragons Breath (cult of the spirit of An or Ankh) Scota is the progenitor of the Irish and Scottish Kings, a royal lineage which eventually gave birth to St. Columba on Iona.

Recent DNA evidence now gives credence to this story of a Royal Egyptian lineage in Scotland, as studies show Europeans can trace their ancestors back to Egypt through Princess Scota, including myself. Scotland is named after the Princess and you can still visit her small unmarked grave just south of Tralee in County Kerry besides the Finglas rivulet in Trughanacmy. (Irish: Gleann Scoṫín or Glen of the Wee Blossom Princess Scota)

Additional supporting evidence according to Lorraine Evans in her book “Kingdom of the Ark,” documents the wreckage of two Egyptian ships discovered near Hull in 1937 AD. Carbon dating puts them from the period of 1400 BC to 1350 BC. If an Egyptian Princess could travel by ship via trade routes to the British Isles a thousand years prior to the Holy Family, why couldn’t Isa or Mari travel by ship via trade routes with Joseph of Arimathea, the uncle of Isa? A wealthy tin merchant who had many ties to the British Isles as a supplier of metal for all uses that were shipped from Wales, Ireland and France to the Middle East. Grail romances depict Joseph of Arimathea as the man who brought the Grail to safety. Was Mari this sacred vessel, the cup of Christ being an allegory for the  womb which carried the Children of the Grail?

St. Columba’s Pillow – Iona Abbey

St. Columba in addition to his ancient ancestor Princess Scota, has also been associated with the Stone of Destiny. A replica of a similar stone resides in the Medieval Abbey on Iona. Historians state the Monk used the stone as a portable altar and slept upon it every night in order to obtain insights from God. He used it as a coronation chair, this act alone links St. Columba and Iona with the Pendragons and Grail Legends. St. Columba consecrates Aedan as first King of Dal Riada, the proto-scot Gaelic Kingdom.

According to Sir Laurence Gardner the real King Arthur’s Father was King Aedon Mac Gabran of Scots, and became Pendragon by virtue of the fact that he was Prince Brychans grandson. In this line, Aedans mother, Lleuan of Brecknock was descendent from Joseph of Arimathea.

Some say St. Columba was also responsible for penning the mystical Book of Kells when on the Isle of Iona, now housed at the Trinity College in Dublin Ireland. I was able to see the book while in Ireland on my travels. Within the beautifully illustrated Book of Kells, there is a genealogy for the family of Christ which contradicts the Christian and Catholic versions of his-story.

The Bloodline of Mari Magdalena

Today Senior Stewart Line claims decent from King Arthur’s Father, King Aedan of Scots, on the one hand and to Prince Nascien of the Septimanian Midi on the other hand. The Scots descent traces further back through King Lucius of Siluria, to Bran the Blessed, and Joseph of Arimathea while the Midi succession stems from the Merovingian’s male ancestral line through the Fisher Kings (Priest Kings) to St. Isa and Mari Magdalena.

0ac2cac236cffa9e210d2438952f805f--mary-magdalene-bible-art-sculptureIf the Grail is the Sacred Bloodline, it resided in Iona on multiple occasions. Mari Magdalena was a royal Hasmonean Princess from the Jewish lineage of Sumer/Israel. According to thirteenth century French chronicler Jacobus da Varagine, Mari is of the Blue Blood lineage, otherwise known as the Rh-negative bloodline. A bloodline with a legacy that dates back to the Sumerian history of the Anunnaki. She was also linked to the Benjamites, a daughter of Cyrus of Magdala, King of the Benjamite Tribe and Eucharis of Magdala. According to William Henry in his Book, “Mary Magdalene the Illuminator,” her Father’s name was Syrus, and her Mother’s name, Eucharia. Perhaps part of the reason history has tried to suppress the truth about Mari has to do with her family’s tribe, a tribe ostracized because they were of the line of Cain. So too was Hiram Abiff architect of the temple of Solomon – Legenda Aurea Genoma 1275 AD. Interestingly, the negative RH strain is characteristic of the British royal families.

Another known characteristic is that of the Fleur-de-lis, a symbol not only associated with the union of the legendary King Merovee with Isa and Mari’s decedents, but to Enki in the Sumerian stories, who is represented as the Lord of Waters, holding a 3-prong trident. The Fleur-de-lis is derived from the trident symbolism.

Trident Comparasons CX.jpg

The Fleur-De-Lis or lily symbol has long been associated with St. Mari Magdalena and St. Isa. Author of the book, Secrets of the Serpent Bloodline, Tau Tia Douglass, a Celtic Bishop, claims direct decent from the Grail-line. She writes that one can find clues for these ancient bloodlines within their Family Crests. “There is much confusion about the female line because it has been well hidden. However, names with water in them, mermaid symbols, hearts, stars, shells, chalice and swans all represent the female line. And despite the disinformation, the Fleur-de-lis is to represent purity within both patriarchal and matriarchal lines.”

Wadsworth Family Crest and Masonic Heirloom

My own family crest of Wadsworth has three Flue-de-lis upon it and is of European origins. My ancestors on my father’s side, fled from the oppression of the Catholic church out of England in 1632, migrating to America. I stem from a long line of high degree Scottish Rite Freemasons, with even my great grandmothers being initiates of,  The Order of the Eastern Star. Their symbol of the 5 pointed star,  refers to stories which are inspired by biblical heroines in the Bible.

Could my ancestors have been privy to this hidden knowledge regarding the Grail legends? Sadly, if they were, they took the secret to the grave. One treasure passed down to my father, Calvin Wadsworth VI, from his forefather Calvin Wadsworth II, is a baby ring that I wore as the first-born to my family until I outgrew it, made of gold with the 32-degree inscribed. Adorned with the double-headed eagle/phoenix, bejeweled with a precious stone in the center, and the Hebrew symbol Yod, the 10th letter of the Hebrew alphabet residing inside of a triangle. Let us attempt to break down some of the important symbolism of this very old family heirloom.

According to Manley P. Hall, a 33rd Degree Freemason, the most pronounced symbol is often incorrectly interpreted as a double-headed eagle, when in fact it’s a phoenix. In his own words, “The Phoenix is said to live for 500 years, and at its death its body opens and the newborn Phoenix emerges. Because of this symbolism, the Phoenix is generally regarded as representing immortality and resurrection…The Phoenix is one sign of the secret orders of the ancient world and of the initiate to those orders, for it was common to refer to one who had been accepted into the temples as a man twice-born, or reborn. Wisdom confers a new life, and those who become wise are born again.”

The Phoenix otherwise known in Egypt as the Heron or Heronry represents the center of our galaxy. The Mayans called the center of our galaxy, The Place of Herons. The Druids called this center Tula, Toona, Tua, Tala, Tara, Tow, Torah, Tor, and Tower. The Egyptian Heron stands upon the Tower.

tumblr_ncrxlscYKs1s7ej7ro1_500From the sacredness with which the name Yod was venerated, it was seldom, if ever, written in full. A great many hieroglyphics were invented to express it. One of these was the letter י or Yod, equivalent nearly to the English I, or J, or Y, which was the initial of the word, and it was often inscribed within an equilateral triangle, thus the triangle itself is a symbol of Deity.

This symbol of the name of God, not only is the triangle to be found in many of the ancient religions occupying the same position, but the whole symbol itself is undoubtedly the origin of that hieroglyphic exhibited in the second degree of Masonry, where the explanation of the symbolism is the same. Thus, the Ineffable Name itself, is said to have been preserved in its true pronunciation by the Essenes, who in their secret-rites communicated it to each other only in a whisper, while its component parts were known. They were so separated as to make the whole word a mystery. Among the Egyptians, whose connection with the Hebrews was more immediate than that of any other people, there was a greater similarity of rites. The same sacred name is said to have been used as a password for the purpose of gaining admission to their Greater Mysteries.

The Bloodline of St. Isa (Jesus)

yeshua_talitIsa was a royal Davidic Prince from the Jewish lineage of Egypt/Judah, descendent of King David who himself descends from Seth, the third child born to Adam and Eve after the murder of Abel by his brother Cain. 2000 years ago, any marriage between the Tribe of Egypt/Judah (Isa’s Tribe) with the Tribe of Sumer/Israel (Mari’s Tribe) would have upset both lineages of the orthodox Jews. This ancient family rivalry dating all the way back to the days of Adam and Eve continues to this day. At the time, the Roman Empire feared the marriage between Isa and Mari would unite the Northern Sumer/Israel and the Southern Egypt/Judah portions of the former Kingdom of David (aka: Thoth Moses III) In order to prevent this information from getting out ancient Jewish historical records were burned by Roman Soldiers. Ultimately, leading to the burning of the Library of Alexandria by the Roman empire in the 4th century. The library contained millions of documents and scrolls, some of which were written by Thoth Hermes Trismegistus along with the great Pharaohs, known as AH Moses I, Thoth Moses III (aka: David) and Amenhotep III (aka: Solomon) You see these were royal titles given not literary names.

The ancient Jewish outrage over Mari and Isa’s marriage led to hostility against their children in the same way the orthodox Egyptians disapproved of the marriage between Pharaoh Amenhotep III of his Sumer/Israel second wife Tiye who was the daughter of Joseph a Hyksos Prince from Megiddo, also known as the wearer of the biblical coat of many colors. They disapproved so much so, that they decreed by law any half-breed child of the Pharaoh of Egypt be immediately killed upon birth. Thus, upon birth, Tiye and her midwives sent her son downstream in a reed basket to her Sumer/Israel relatives.

Supression of Mari and the Sacred Marriage

It was the 6th Century BC while being held for 70 years in captivity after being conquered by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians/Iraqis, that a group of rich Jewish men wrote down the Old Testament. These wealthy politicians and merchants re-wrote history in order to unite two different lineages of Jewish Sumer/Israel and Egypt/Judah Peoples into one Hebrew race, (the chosen people) in order to overthrow the Iraqis who had imprisoned them in Babylon.

Originally, the Hebrew word for God Yahweh, was translated into English as Jehovah and represented as YHWH. The Y is EL, (Father God) the first H is Asher-Ah, (Mother Goddess) the W is HE, the son (King of Heaven) and the second H is Anath, the daughter (Queen of Heaven). Prior to the 6th century and the writing of the Old Testament, the Jewish people worshipped Asher-Ah as the Mother aspect of God and EL as the Father aspect of God. Together they were the Divine Couple of Sacred Union.

In this way, a relatively small group of wealthy men abolished the mother aspect of God when writing the Old Testimony, I say testimony because it’s not a testament if you ask me. The Divine family of 4 in 1 was simply condensed to a single male God, and the rest is HIS-story. The word Elohim has also been misinterpreted as a single male god when in fact, this is the plural form of the word, and can represent both Gods and Goddesses. I Chronicles 22:19 – “Now set your heart and your soul to seek Yahweh your Elohim.” With this new perspective, one could say this biblical verse should go something more like this…”Now set your heart and your soul, to seek the Divine Family (Sacred Union), you are Gods and Goddesses.”

When the Catholics in 325 AD lead by the Roman Emperor Constantine, organized the First Council of Nicaea, they too wanted to supress any notion that St. Isa was married and bore children with Mari, in order to maintain control over Christians and Christianity. The Catholics wanted to name the rulers not the bloodline of Isa and tried very hard to remove all evidence of their bloodline. However, they’ve forgotten their own history and let the clues remain even in the “New Testimony.” One very important fact, it was the Davidic law since the time of David that ALL Davidic Heirs must be married by law, in order to continue the bloodline. St. Isa was a direct descendant of Abraham and David which required him to be married and sire at least 2 sons or else he could not become King. In my previous article, Secrets Discovered in Stained Glass, I postulate that Mari and Isa had a total of three children. John Martinus being the last heir born unto the holy family.

In Matthew 26:6-7 and Mark 14:3, Mary of Bethany, who poured a precious boxful of spikenard over his head, anointed Jesus. In the Old Testament ‘The song of Solomon’ identifies the potion symbolic of espousal as being ‘spikenard’. In John 11:1-2, John explains how the ritual of anointing Jesus’ feet was performed yet again by the same woman of Bethany. Mary took a pound of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair and the house was full with the odor of the ointment, (John 12:3)

The same actions explained in the ‘Song of Solomon’ from the Old Testament, alludes to the ancient-rite of Hieros Gamos, by which the royal bride prepared her bridegroom’s table. Further validating the Secrets I discovered in stained glass, regarding the ancient origins of the Eucharist, and the deeper meaning behind this tradition. To perform the rite with spikenard was the express privilege of a Messianic bride, and was performed solely at the first marriage and second marriage ceremonies. Only as the full wife of Isa and as a High Priestess of Ishtar in her own right, could Mari have anointed both his head and feet with the sacred ointment.

When the Catholics were deciding what to remove from the Gospels in order to hide the fact that Isa was married, they forgot the most important facts of Jewish customs. It’s easy to conclude that a pregnant Mari Magdalena would have fled at the first opportunity from the types of persecution she must have been facing, and Joseph of Arimathea would have had the means to help her escape.

A prosperous tin merchant who brought his nephew Isa to places like Glastonbury in England, India, and Asia during his youth and so-called “missing years,” allowing him to study with the Druids, Yogis, Brahmans, and Monks. Eventually bringing back the teachings as an adult and reinterpreting them to his people. St. Isa taught Swat Shabd Yoga and should be known as a perfect living master in both the Druidic, Egyptian, and Oriental traditions. These ancient cultures all have their own historical records of a man fitting the description of Jesus arriving on their shores to learn and teach. Jesus is known as Jeshua in Tibet, India, and Greece. Christ or Christos in Greek. In Tibet, there is a St. Issa, in Gaelic it’s Iosa, in Aramaic it is ISA, in Cornwall and Wales it is spelled Essa.

The Missing Years

Joseph and the boy Jesus sail up the Brue River to Glastonbury, from the banner of the parish church of Pilton, 6 miles east of Glastonbury.

“During The time of Christ, the British Isles possessed the largest number of universities, totaling 60, with 60,000 students under instruction. It was a mecca for spiritual pilgrims, mystics, and philosophers. The elite of the Western world traveled to the British Isles and likewise, religious scholars from Egypt, Spain, Palestine and Scotland all met to exchange ideas.

Egyptian Essenes had a working relationship with the British Druid Magi and it’s known that Isa was connected to Qumran and the Essenes who discovered the torch of illumination that the followers of Akhenaton hid after his reign. Some Druids, such as those in Fortingall, Scotland had a sister school on Mt. Carmel, Palestine and were therefore linked spiritually and culturally. Even monks from Tibet visited the British Isles and vice versa.

If an inquisitive young Isa traveled with his uncle, Joseph of Arimathea to the Brittish Isles, as well as other continents during the missing years as legends claim, he would have undoubtdly been interested in studying amongst the many different schools of thought. Henry Jenner, the old Chief Bard of Cornwall, writes of such an account for the Benedictine Journal Pax in 1916, describing metal workers as, “a very old fraternity,” with a saying, “Joseph was in the tin trade,” which reflects their tradition. Joseph made his money as a tin merchant, and also once brought “the child Christ and His Mother and landed them at St Michael’s Mount.”

Few people know that England’s de facto National Anthem Jerusalem is based on this very question. Here is the first stanza speaking of Jesus ( the “Lamb of God”)

And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon England’s mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England’s pleasant pastures seen?

According to Barry Dunford, ” at the English College of Arms, The Heraldry Office at Jesus College clearly shows the grandmother of Jesus and her links to various kings of the British royal family.” It’s very possible that the stories of St. Isa on the British Isles amongst other exotic lands which housed centers of spiritual learning are all rooted in historical truths. “The great-grandparents of Jesus were born and lived in the area of Fortingall, Scotland, where one of the first “mother churches” is believed to have been located. His grandparents Joachim and Anna (Hannah) moved to Galilee, but the rest of the family remained in Scotland. Anna wasn’t Jewish, but of both Celtic and Hebrew royal lineages.”

Mari Magdalena the Refugee

Cardinal Baronius, curator of the Vatican library gives an account of a vessel drifting into Marseilles carrying the holy family, one of the largest ancient ports of its time in France providing safe passage for refugees fleeing the holy land. Its recorded that they had a short stay in Gaul before going to Glastonbury in England. The complete list of passengers noted by Boranius is as follows: St. Mary (wife of Cleopas), St. Martha, St. Lazarus, St. Eutropius, St. Salome, St. Cleon, St. Saturninus, St. Mari Magdalena, Marcella (the Bethany sister’s maid), St. Maximin, St. Martial, St. Trophimus, St. Sidonius (Restitutus), and St. Joseph of Arimathea.

It’s also recorded that Philip was waiting for the travelers in France. There is a wealth of uncontroversial accounts asserting his commission in Gaul, all which alike state that he received and consecrated Joseph of Arimathea, appointing him as the Apostle of Britain.

Among the sacred texts of the Hebrew Bible, deep in the book of the prophet Micah is an obscure passage addressing the bereaved “Bride.” The prophet describes the fate of Mary in just a few lines as she is seen mourning the death of her counselor and beloved King:

“As for you, O Magdal-eder,
Watchtower of the Flock,
Stronghold of the Daughter of Sion,
unto you shall the former dominion be restored,
the kingdom of daughter Jerusalem.
Now why are you crying?
Have you no king? Has your counselor perished,
that you are seized with pains like a woman in labor?
For now, shall you go forth from the city
And dwell in the open fields.
To Babylon shall you go,
and from there you shall be rescued…
Now also many nations are gathered against you, that say,
‘Let her be declared unclean…’”

The prophet Micah tells her to go to Babylon where she will be rescued. Curiously, Europe has been described as the modern-day Babylon. The European Parliament in Strasburg France was modelled on a painting done in 1563 of the Tower of Babel, by Peter Brueghel. This building is commonly referred to as the Tower of Eurobabel. The Celtic Knott in the Book of Kells known to have been written by St. Columba on the Isle of Iona, is believed to be an ornamental cross of the same symbol found in the ruins of Babylon that predates the Book of Kells by 2000 years.

Mari Magdalena and the Royal House of Orange

There are accounts that also connect Mari to the Royal House of Orange in a city called Tarascon, just south of the city of Orange in France. Synchro-mystically, I too have lived in the city of Orange, within the County of Orange in Southern California my entire life, and the city called Tara-scon depicts my first name. In a dream, I described in my previous article, The Secrets in Stained Glass, I revealed that I saw a woman cloaked in a crimson orange robe. The symbolism is undeniable and remarkable. The more I dive into the Grail legends, the more I feel I’m being called on a personal level to unveil these Greater Mysteries.

The first Prince we know of was the 8th Century Guillaume de Orange. He had Judaic origins and a Judaic aristocracy. In the well-known book Holy Blood, Holy Grail the authors, Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln, tried to link him directly to the bloodline of Jesus through the line of the Merovingian Kings. His sister became Queen of Franks. The family name Guillaume meant, “Guide or Navigator,” and was changed to Guillhalme then Wilhelm, and eventually to the English William.

main-qimg-12d77ae768639dacaba8d248f707da10-cWilliam III of Orange became King of England and after winning the religious wars of the Catholic Church, he introduced The Orange Reformation and the Age of Reason was the result. Everything we have today can be attributed to the winning of that war. Their combined Royal coat of Arms depict both the symbol of the Lion and the Unicorn. Both symbols of the Holy Bloodline families. The unicorn is a patriarchal symbol for the Grail line representing Mari, who is chained but the chains have been broken. In the Old Testament’s Song of Solomon and in the Psalms of David, the fertile unicorn is associated with the kingly line of Judah, and it was for this very reason that the Cathars of Provence used the magical beast to symbolize the Grail bloodline. The lion representing Isa is crowned and a rose resides next to him. The crown represents those who have reached Kether-Illumination. There is a Fleur-de-li and a harp on the shield, all symbols of the Serpent/Dragon Bloodlines.

Every year the French people celebrate the arrival of Mari and Lazarus on February 2nd. In 950 AD Rabanus Maarus the Bishop of Mayence, wrote how Martha converted the people of Tarascon and that she lived until her death there around 68 AD, in a prayer house constructed on a site where now a church stands. Excavations were carried out there in 1187 and bones believed to have been those of Martha were found. Relics of Lazarus were also uncovered in 1146 which are currently in the crypt of St. Victor in Mareilles. Pilgrims began to visit there in the 13th Century and local Feasts were declared by King Rene in 1435 which still continue to this day around June 24th.

Mari Magdalena’s Presence on Iona

There are claims that even the body of Mari Magdalene resides somewhere on the Isle of Iona. According to Christine Hartley, again in her classic work The Western Mystery Tradition, “There is a legend too that Mari Magdalena lies buried in Iona.” Hartley further says, “Wandering the hills of Scotland, she came to Knoydart.” Knoydart is a peninsula located on the west coast of Scotland adjacent to the Isle of Skye (Island of Jesus). Some ten miles or so, south of Knoydart, can be found another west coast peninsula named Moidart where on old maps is given the place-name Essa Hill, which may relate to the presence of Isa there. During the 1st century AD, Jesus was known in the Egyptian Christian Coptic Church as Essa, which is the phonetic pronunciation of Isa. It is intriguing to note that legends and place-names appear to link both St. Isa and St. Mari Magdalena to the Scottish hebridean western isles.

It is likely that Christine Hartley’s source for this intriguing legend was the Scottish writer William Sharp, who in his essay on Iona claims, “A Tiree man, whom I met some time ago on the boat that was taking us both to the west, told me there’s a story that Mary Magdalene lies in a cave on Iona.” In Mingulay, one of the south isles of the Hebrides in South Uist and in Iona, there is a practically identical tale told with striking variations. This would suggest there was an oral tradition current among the western isles of Scotland which placed Mari Magdalena there. For many years, in ancient times, the tired bones of a number of royal families were buried at the Reilig Odhrain (St Oran’s Shrine) just beside the monastery on Iona. It is a sign of the ancient sanctity associated with Iona that Royals, Chieftains and families of high birth from so far and wide were brought here to be buried.

The Mystic Isle of Iona

One could say that the prophecy of Iona has already come to pass. Mari has returned into the consciousness of mankind. She is being redeemed from the lies of being nothing but a repentant sinner and prostitute, and returned to her rightful place as the equal counterpart, and beloved Bride of St. Isa. The Sacred Vessel and Mother of their children, a great and wise leader herself, a High Priestess of ancient orders which included the veneration of a Mother Goddess, the Apostle to all the Apostles.

A new AWAKENING is taking place, a resurfacing of ancient truths, an inner alchemy, a merging of Divine Feminine and Sacred Masculine that religious dogma and societal conditioning has enshrouded for centuries. A divine union relationship is a co-creative partnership of equality. To experience Divine Union in all its power and beauty is to participate in the dance of creation. The child of cosmic birth is referred to in alchemy as the True Self, and it is created from a union known as the Sacred Marriage of dualities both within and without.

The historical story that has been hidden from us about St. Isa and St. Mari is one of Sacred Union. Mari Magdalena and Isa are alive and well within all of us, and it’s very likely their kin have survived to this day in secrecy. This sort of family secret never stays buried forever, and It’s also likely that some of their relatives may know or suspect who they are. Perhaps they are just patiently waiting for the right time to come forward, when the world will no longer demonize them for exposing the truth of their origins.
